Waxahachie non-profit of the year
"We are more than just
a food pantry"
We are so honored to have been voted Non-Profit of the Year in Waxahachie 2020. It was said that during those hardest of times last year CARE came through monthly, weekly & daily to make sure those who suffered the most were not forgotten and that we had organized hundreds of volunteers to coordinate thousands of pounds of food & literally wrapped our arms around our citizens throughout the pandemic.
At first we lost most all of our volunteers. Our food intake became almost nonexistent. Then the number of Neighbors needing assistance doubled. We frantically searched for volunteers & food but also for other ways to help. As we acclimated, our food supply slowly began to recover. Then we started bringing in groups of people after hours to help us.
This move was to help keep our numbers of people in the building to a minimum. Slowly the groups formed but eventually started to snowball. Before we knew it we had fully recovered with an adequate supply of food & volunteer groups. It would seem our community was just as determined as us to rebuild & move forward.
We did not shut down when everyone thought we should and our Hachie friends came to the rally. Together we have made a difference. People often ask how it’s going now and our answer is we could in no way be doing all we do without the help & support of our great citizens. We still continue to invite groups to work during hours of operation & after hours. School groups, families, business, organizations & churches have moved mountains this past year. We sincerely thank you all & look forward to another great year.
Neighbors caring for neighbors
Waxahachie Care is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides food and other assistance to our local community neighbors in need. We strive to be the caring neighbor in Ellis County through partnership with people like you.
Curbside Pantry Distribution
Each month, Neighbors come to CARE to receive groceries. These items are based off of the donations we have at the time. Drive up and meet a volunteer or staff member in the parking lot, have your CARE card ready and wait in your vehicle. Remain in your vehicle until your food is placed in the designated area by a staff or volunteer.
Letter from the director
Going into 2021 and reflecting back on 2020, I realized what a journey and what a ride! I am very humbled and honored to lead a great group of employees & volunteers. I am blessed with a fantastic board of directors and look forward to the plans God has prepared for us.
If you are a donor, I want to assure you, your monetary donation is being used to further our mission and passion in reaching our goals of helping those in need & we are very appreciative of your generosity.
If you are a neighbor, we are here to help you. We give to you as people give to us, so if you need something other than food or utility assistance, ask, sometimes we get items that might be just what you need.
If you would like to become a volunteer, check out our Volunteer tab. We love building relationships.
Together we will make a positive impact in 2021!

DISTRIBUTED IN 2020
Waxahachie CARE had an amazing year in 2020. Our greatest accomplishment last year, though there are many, is we made a goal to make an impact in our community by becoming more than just a food pantry. At the time we had no idea COVID-19 would play such a role in helping us achieve that goal. This year again we distributed over 500,000 pounds of food for the second year in a row.
